Job summary

Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL seeks an RN for the Pediatric Emergency Department, evenings 1:00pm–1:00am with every third weekend and rotating holidays. You will provide professional nursing care aligned with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.

Must have an Associate Degree or higher in Nursing (ADN holders must obtain a BSN within five years), 1+ year ED experience, IL RN license, CPR, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates Degree or higher in Nursing; ADN holders must obtain BSN within five years.
• Experience: 1+ year in the emergency department.
• Licensure/Certifications: IL RN license; CPR; ACLS/PALS within specified timeframes; NIHSS within three months.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care per Illinois Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Assess patient condition, plan, implement and evaluate care; monitor progress.
• Delegate tasks and function as a team member to meet unit goals.

Hourly Pay Range: $37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Location: Edward Hospital

Full- Time: 36 hours/week

Hours: Evenings 1:00pm-1:00am with every third weekends and rotating holidays

What you will need

• Education: Associates Degree or higher in Nursing; If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date.
• Experience: Requires 1+ years' experience in the emergency department unit
• Required License and/or Certification: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure; Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within three months of start date into position; Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within three months of start date into position; Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) within three months of start date into position

What you will do

Provides professional nursing care according in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures. Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients’ progress, and records pertinent observations. Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff. Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals.
