Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Jackson Purchase Medical Center team in Mayfield, Kentucky on a PRN schedule. The Women’s Services unit supports a tight-knit team focused on patient-centered care in an 8-bed unit.

The RN will perform plans of care, document care, monitor patient status, assist with ADLs, and coordinate with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes. ACLS/PALS within six months and BLS within 30 days are required.

Qualifications

• RN license is required.
• BLS certification must be completed within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of RN experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Executes plan of care, including med administration, specimen collection and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient conditions to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, nutrition and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharge planning and psychosocial support needs.
• Assesses patient/family learning needs and provides appropriate education.
• Advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

The Women's Services unit at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing care to patients. This is an 8-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

• RN license required
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
