Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY is seeking an RN to join the Emergency Department on a PRN basis. You will provide direct patient care, document treatments, monitor patient status, assist with ADLs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate transfers and discharges.

The role emphasizes advocacy for patients and families, with certification requirements to be completed within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) must be certified within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certification required within six months of hire.
• Handle with care (HWC) within 6 months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care as needed.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Works with patients' families to support patient abilities and address family needs.

The Emergency Room (ER) at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a 14-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. We strive to create places where patients choose to come for healthcare, where providers desire to practice, and Team Members want to work.

How you'll contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.

• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Works with patients' families to help improve the patient's abilities and help them deal with family member's illness.

What we're looking for
