Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients, using the nursing process and collaborating with the interprofessional team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

This full-time days shift (7a–7p) offers a sign-on bonus and opportunities for on-call coverage, ongoing education, and professional growth within Lifepoint Health.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire. Handle With Care (HWC) preferred.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for behavioral health patients.
• Document patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Coordinate care across disciplines (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial support).
• Assess learning needs and deliver age- and culture-appropriate education.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participate in performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provide care and may be assigned on-call.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice for behavioral health patients. Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).

• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.

• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
