Job summary

Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Women's Services unit. This full-time day shift (7a–7p) focuses on providing compassionate obstetric and newborn care on an eight-bed unit.

You will plan and deliver care, document thoroughly, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the care team for transfers, discharges and family education. RN license required; BLS within 30 days; ACLS/PALS within six months; one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care given and monitors patient condition.
• Communicates with care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and nutrition.
• Coordinates transfers, discharges and referrals across disciplines.
• Provides patient/family education tailored to age, culture, and condition.
• Advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

The Women's Services unit at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing care to patients. This is an 8-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

• RN license required
