Job summary

Peterson Health in Kerrville, Texas, seeks a full-time Registered Nurse to work in the Main Operating Room. The role requires call during the shift and involves perioperative advocacy, coordination of care, and support for patients and surgeons.

Minimum education includes graduation from an accredited nursing program with Texas RN licensure; BLS and ACLS are required within 90 days, CNOR preferred. Prior OR circulating experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program

Responsibilities

• Act as patient advocate during perioperative care and protect against injury, wrong-site surgery, infection, and retained instruments.
• Coordinate patient care between providers and hospital staff; support physical and emotional needs and assist the surgeon.
• Document care and interventions accurately, including equipment and supplies.

What You Will Do

Acts as patient advocate during the perioperative period by implementing a plan to protect them from injury, wrong site surgery, infection and retained instruments. Coordinates the patient’s care between providers and hospital staff. Supports the patient’s physical and emotional needs, while assisting the surgeon. Documents care provided accurately and completely, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.
