Job summary

Peterson Health in Kerrville, Texas, seeks a Full Time Registered Nurse to work in the Main Operating Room. The role requires call responsibility and focuses on perioperative patient advocacy, coordinating care among providers and staff, and assisting the surgeon to ensure patient safety.

The RN will document care accurately, maintain instrument and equipment counts, and support patients’ physical and emotional needs while delivering compassionate, high-quality nursing care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as patient advocate during the perioperative period by implementing a plan to protect them from injury, wrong site surgery, infection and retained instruments.
• Coordinates the patient’s care between providers and hospital staff.
• Supports the patient’s physical and emotional needs, while assisting the surgeon.
• Documents care provided accurately and completely, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.
