Job summary

Peterson Health in Kerrville, Texas, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to work in the hospital’s Main Operating Room. Call is required. The role includes perioperative patient advocacy and coordination of care with surgeons and staff.

Required: Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS within 90 days; CNOR preferred. Clinical experience in the OR is valued; BSN preferred. Benefits include health, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Texas license as a Registered Nurse. Certified in Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) is preferred.
• One or more years circulating experience in a hospital Operating Room.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients during perioperative period and coordinate care between providers.
• Support the patient’s physical and emotional needs while assisting the surgeon.
• Document care provided accurately, including interventions, equipment and supplies.

What you will do

Acts as patient advocate during the perioperative period by implementing a plan to protect them from injury, wrong site surgery, infection and retained instruments. Coordinates the patient’s care between providers and hospital staff. Supports the patient’s physical and emotional needs, while assisting the surgeon. Documents care provided accurately and completely, including interventions, equipment, and supplies.
