Job summary

Springfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Special Procedures Area on-site. This full-time position offers a day shift (7:30am–4:00pm) with five 8-hour shifts and a rotating schedule, plus minimal on-call requirements.

The Special Procedures RN performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across bronchoscopy, GI endoscopy, motility studies, breath tests, and pill cam studies, while delivering age-appropriate patient care and participating in evidence-based practice and

Job Description Summary:

Registered Nurse (RN) - Special Procedures Area

This is a Fulltime, M-F, Day Shift position Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm (Five 8's and Four 8's Weekly Rotation) Minimal On-Call Requirements: 1 weeknight call shift every 2-3 weeks; 1 weekend call shift every 12-14 weekends A Special Procedures RN uses five procedural suites and provides diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to both inpatient and outpatients, including bronchoscopy, gastrointestinal endoscopy, motility and phone studies, breath hydrogen testing, and pill cam studies.

• Responsible for delegation, supervision, and provision of nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process.
• Provides age-appropriate care.
• Participates in research when appropriate and incorporates research findings into evidence-based clinical practice.
• Contributes to quality improvement processes.
• Adheres to MH Mission, Vision, and Values, the Nursing Division Mission, Vision, and Philosophy, the ANA Code of Ethics and the Illinois Nursing Act.

• Education: ADN or BSN
• Licensure/Certification/Registry: Licensed as RN in State of Illinois
• Current BLS/CPR certification per policy
• Must be able to position and/or transfer an average adult patient and possess gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties as required.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing.
• Must be able to perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.
• Environmental working conditions include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue, contagious diseases and/or radioactive or other potentially hazardous materials.

Pay Transparency $30.23 - $48.37 Additional compensation in the form(s) of participation in our annual incentive program are dependent on role. Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role.
