Job summary

Springfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Special Procedures to support five procedural suites, performing bronchoscopy, GI endoscopy, motility and related studies.

Responsibilities include delegation, supervision, and delivery of patient care through the nursing process. The role requires an ADN or BSN, IL RN licensure, and current BLS/CPR certification; day shift with occasional on-call and a Monday–Friday schedule.

• Licensed as RN in Illinois.

• Ability to position and transfer adult patients.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Special Procedures AreannThis is a Fulltime, M-F, Day Shift positionnSchedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm (Five 8's and Four 8's Weekly Rotation)nMinimal On-Call Requirements: 1 weeknight call shift every 2-3 weeks; 1 weekend call shift every 12-14 weekendsnnA Special Procedures RN uses five procedural suites and provides diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to both inpatient and outpatients, including bronchoscopy, gastrointestinal endoscopy, motility and phone studies, breath hydrogen testing, and pill cam studies.nnResponsible for delegation, supervision, and provision of nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process. Provides age-appropriate care. Participates in research when appropriate and incorporates research findings into evidence-based clinical practice. Contributes to quality improvement processes. Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to position and/or transfer an average adult patient and possess gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties as required.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.
• Environmental working conditions include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue, contagious diseases and/or radioactive or other potentially hazardous materials.
