RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Jersey City Medical Center. This full-time night-shift role focuses on safe, evidenced-based patient care and collaboration across the care team.

Ideal candidates hold an active New Jersey RN license, BLS, ACLS, Basic Dysrhythmia, and a BSN or current enrollment; PACU/ICU experience and EPIC EMR proficiency are preferred. Weekend rotation may be required.

• 1 year PACU/ICU RN experience.
• Comfortable with EPIC EMR.

Typical day responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course and ACLS required. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is required or actively enrolled in a BSN program with expected completion date. Minimum 1 year of PACU, ICU or Surgical ICU RN experience. Comfortable with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This is a full time night shift position, Monday - Friday. Must be able to work every other weekend and rotating holidays required. Scheduled allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
