Overview

10DE Progressive Care is a 19-bed, high acuity progressive care unit serving a diverse patient population with complex medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, and trauma needs. Patients may be admitted from any of our specialty ICUs, the Emergency Department, or transferred from other units when higher care is needed but ICU is not required. Most patients are still mechanically ventilated via tracheostomy or require non-invasive ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP). Many are recovering from severe critical illnesses, requiring frequent monitoring, nursing interventions, complex care coordination, and intensive rehabilitation by physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Due to high acuity, the typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3. All patients receive continuous cardiac and pulse oximetry monitoring. Our unit emphasizes teamwork, quality improvement, and professional involvement within the AACN.

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following policies and procedures under supervision. Maintains a safe work environment and performs all responsibilities safely. Maintains clinical and professional competency suited to the age, culture, developmental stages, and needs of patients.

Physical Requirements

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. BLS required. Current RN license or temporary license in the state of practice. Additional certifications or experience may be required by the department.
