Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse I provides professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following facility policies and under supervision. Maintains a safe environment and ensures competency in caring for our patient population.

Patient Population

Our Palmetto Progressive Care Unit manages diverse diagnoses including COPD, heart failure, arrhythmias, renal failure, DKA, withdrawal conditions, and more. We care for patients with tracheostomies requiring mechanical ventilation, BIPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, hypothermia regulation, and titratable IV drips. We promote shared governance, clinical development, and a team-oriented culture.

Essential Functions

• Gather and analyze patient data to identify diagnoses and problems.
• Set expected outcomes and develop care plans.
• Implement care plans and coordinate care delivery.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and evaluate progress.
• Practice culturally competent care and communicate effectively.
• Lead and collaborate within the healthcare team.
• Incorporate evidence-based practices and contribute to quality improvement.
• Adhere to professional standards, regulations, and ethical practices.

Physical Requirements

Walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 35 pounds, and other physical activities are required. Must speak English clearly, have good senses, and demonstrate critical thinking. Physical abilities testing is required.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Graduate from an accredited Nursing program; BSN preferred. Current BLS certification required. Valid RN license or temporary license in your state of practice is required.
