Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Fort Worth seeks a Registered Nurse for the PCU, full-time. The role covers telemetry and post-acute stroke, with 7a-7p shifts and 36 hours weekly.

You will apply the Nursing Process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care while maintaining safety and infection control. Opportunities for growth and self-scheduling support are available in a Magnet facility.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing on hire.
• BCLS required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year RN experience or completion of an RN residency; PCU/Tele and Med/Surg experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
• Assess the patient.

• Intervene as appropriate and evaluate interventions.

Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7a - 7p shift

• 36 bed PCU Department; Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:4 depending on acuity
• Patient population: intermediate /telemetry level of care for the post-acute stroke, general medical, endocrine GI/renal patient population

Here's what you need

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• ACLS - within 90 days of hire
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS - within 90 days of hire
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
• PCU/Tele and Med/Surg experience preferred

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• assesses the patient

• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
