Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit Overflow (PCU 4). Earn a $15,000 commitment bonus with a two-year commitment.

This full-time daytime role includes rotating weekends and provides comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities. Qualified candidates will have an Associate's degree in nursing (Bachelor's preferred), an active Kentucky RN license, BCLS, ACLS, and PALS (Handle with Care preferred).

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Kentucky RN license (state license).
• Current BCLS; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Handle with Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

Education:

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

License/Certifications:

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Active Kentucky license (single state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• BCLS required.
• ACLS
• PALS
• Handle with Care preferred
