Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit Overflow (PCU 4). This full-time day shift includes a $15,000 commitment bonus and rotating weekends, with start times around 6:30 to 7:00 AM.

Join a Lifepoint Health facility committed to community health. You will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, administer meds, document care, and coordinate across care teams.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice; Kentucky license required or compact.
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; Handle with Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

Education

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

License/Certifications

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Active Kentucky license (single state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• BCLS required.
• ACLS
