Qualifications & Requirements

• Current state RN license or multistate licensure
• Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school

Additional Requirements

• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (or obtain within 90 days)
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification (or obtain within 6 months)
• Pass arrhythmia exam within 90 days
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a stressful environment
• Effective communication in English (verbal and written)

Department/Unit Summary

• 25-bed unit with private rooms
• All patients on telemetry monitor
• Patient ratio: 5:1
• Team nursing model with 2 RNs and 5 LPNs
• Fast-paced environment with high patient turnover
• Patient population includes post-heart cath and cardiac history patients
