Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must hold a current state RN license or multistate licensure and have an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.

Additional Requirements

• American Heart Association BLS certification (or obtain within 90 days)
• American Heart Association ACLS certification (or obtain within 6 months)
• Pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently
• Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment
• Effective communication skills in English

Department/Unit Summary

• 25-bed unit with private rooms
• Telemetry monitoring for all patients
• Patient ratio: 5:1
• Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers
• Team nursing model with 2 RNs and 5 LPNs
• Fast-paced environment with high patient turnover
• Patients with heart history and post-heart cath surgery
