This position involves coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching, acting as a patient advocate, and working as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments.

Reports to: Department Director

FLSA: Non-exempt

Education: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

License: Current state RN license or multistate compact license; degree from an accredited nursing school

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Essential Functions
  • Assess patient condition and care needs
  • Set goals and prescribe appropriate nursing interventions
  • Develop, implement, and revise nursing care plans
  • Evaluate patient care outcomes
  • Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies
  • Communicate with patients and oversee care provision
  • Educate patients and families about conditions
  • Document observations, assessments, medications, and treatments accurately
Nonessential Functions
  • Maintain facility equipment, supplies, and work areas
  • Assist in orientation of new employees
  • Coordinate and supervise staff activities
  • Participate in performance and process improvement activities
