Inova is seeking a Registered PACU Nurse for the Interventional Cardiovascular (Pre-Op) Admission & Recovery (ICAR) unit in Falls Church, VA. The position covers 4x10 hour shifts (6am-4pm, 9am-7pm, 1pm-11pm) or 5x8 hour shifts (6am-2pm, 9am-5pm, 1pm-9pm) with limited weekend/holiday requirements.

Responsibilities include supporting PACU/ICU patients across all ages, cross-training to float between locations, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• One year of PACU or Critical Care Nursing (ICU/ED) experience required.
• RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required at start.

Job description

Interventional Cardiovascular (Pre-Op) Admission & Recovery (ICAR) is seeking a full time Registered PACU Nurse to work 4x10 hour shifts, 6am-4pm, 9a-7p, 1pm-11pm OR 5x8hr shifts 6am-2pm, 9am-5pm, 1pm-9pm with minimal weekend and holiday requirement.

Patient Population includes all age ranges from infant to adult.

We are located on the ground floor of the Inova Schar Heart & Vascular Center – Fairfax Medical Campus.This is a fast paced, team-oriented unit with an emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration. Many opportunities for growth and involvement in the unit and hospital initiatives.This unit also supports the CT guided biopsy procedures in the ICPH building. All staff are cross-trained and required to float between both locations.

• Electrophysiology procedures- pacemaker/ICD placement, leadless pacemaker, ablations-VT, SVT, A-Fib, A-Flutter
• Cardiac catheterization procedures- left and right heart caths, heart biopsies, ASD/PFO closures, carotid stents, and structural heart procedures
• Interventional Radiology procedures- angiograms, chemoembolization, IVS filter, Mediports, thrombolysis, venograms, G/J tube placements, nephrostomy and biliary tubes

RN PACU Qualifications:

• One year of PACU or Critical Care Nursing (ICU/ED) experience is required
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate’s degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• BLS healthcare provider certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required at start

RN PACU preferred qualifications:

2 or more years of PACU or critical care nursing (ICU or ED)
