Inova Health's Women's PACU is seeking an experienced PACU Nurse for a full-time role averaging 36 hours per week. Schedule features 12-hour shifts with 1–2 weekend shifts every 6 weeks and on-call requirements.

The unit is a 32-bed Preoperative and PACU department caring for gynecologic surgeries, with ~30 patients daily and 75% discharged home from PACU. Inova Fairfax Medical Campus holds Magnet designation and top hospital rankings.

Qualifications

• 1 year PACU/ICU/ED nursing experience required.
• BLS certification through AHA required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligible.
• BSN from an accredited school of nursing; if RN has ADN, BSN must be completed within 5 years of start date.

Job description

Our Women's PACU is seeking an experienced PACU Nurse for a full-time position averaging 36 hours/week.

Schedule: 12 hours shifts with 1-2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule with on call requirement. Staff covers 600-2330 with night shift and on call requirement.

Our unit is a 32-bay Preoperative and PACU department caring for patients before and after their General Gynecology, Gynecological Oncology, Urological Gynecology, and Robotic procedures. We care for 30 patients a day on average, 75% of which go home same day from the PACU. Our acuity ranges from benign procedures to extensive oncology cases.

RN PACU Qualifications

• Experience - 1 year of PACU or Critical Care (ICU/ED) nursing experience


• Certification - Basic Life Support through AHA


• Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse

Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
