Job summary

Inova Health in Virginia is seeking an experienced Perianesthesia (PACU) Nurse for Inova Alexandria Hospital. This part-time role features 2x12 hour shifts from 10:00 am to 11:30 pm, with on-call nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities include PACU care for pre and post-operative patients (Phase 1 and 2) in a Magnet-designated hospital. The position offers comprehensive benefits and career growth within a trusted healthcare system.

Qualifications

• One year of critical care (ICU or ED) or PACU RN experience.
• BSN from an accredited school; if ADN, BSN must be completed within 5 years.
• RN license to practice in Virginia.
• BLS certification; ACLS and PALS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide PACU care pre and post op and monitor patient status.
• Collaborate with surgical team to coordinate care during phase 1 and 2.
• Maintain patient safety and documentation throughout shift.

PACU Qualifications

• One year of critical care (ICU or ED) or PACU RN experience is required.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• BLS healthcare provider certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required at hire; ACLS and PALS must be completed in the first 90 days

RN PACU preferred qualifications:

• 2 or more years of PACU or critical care nursing (ICU or ED)
