Job summary

UP Health System - Portage, part of Lifepoint Health, invites an OB RN to join a 0.6–0.9 FTE team. Schedule includes 4–6 12‑hour day/night shifts per pay period, with holidays and every 3rd weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school; bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS-HCP certification required.
• One year medical-surgical experience required.
• NRP, AWHONN, EFM, STABLE and PEOP within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharge, referrals and psychosocial support needs.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age and culture.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

An OB RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Performs other job duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional Requirements Include

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• One‑year medical surgical experience required
• OB experience or OB qualifications (preferred)
• NRP, AWHONN, EFM, STABLE and PEOP (within 6 months)
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required
