Job summary

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a compassionate registered nurse to join our in-patient nursing team on the nursery unit. This PRN, in-person opportunity focuses on accurate patient assessments and timely nursing interventions to support newborns and their families.

Applicants should hold a current state RN license and a degree from an accredited nursing school. BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire, and about one year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions

• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

More about our team

The Nursery at Wilson Medical Center is comprised of a well-baby nursery as well as a 2-bed level II nursery serving newborns greater than 32 weeks’ gestation. The nursery provides care to more than 800 newborns annually.

How you’ll contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
