Job summary

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Nursery unit to support newborn care and patient monitoring on a 3x12 schedule (7P–7A) with rotating weekends/holidays. This in-person role emphasizes accurate assessments, timely interventions, and thorough documentation within the care team.

Requirements include an active RN license, a nursing degree from an accredited school, and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• Degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification due within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate patient assessments and identify needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide age-appropriate care and timely documentation of medical necessity.
• Develop and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Conduct timely QI assessments.

More About Our Team

The Nursery at Wilson Medical Center is comprised of a well-baby nursery as well as a 2-bed level II nursery serving newborns greater than 32 weeks gestation. The nursery provides care to more than 800 newborns annually.

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN), who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for- a compassionate nurse with a deep understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring.

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• One year of experience required
