Job summary

Mid Coast Hospital, part of MaineHealth, is hiring a Registered Nurse for a temporary (13-week) full-time evening shift on our Medical-Surgical Unit. The role involves direct patient care, leadership, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.

The position requires an accredited nursing degree, valid RN license, BLS, and unit-specific certifications. ACLS/PALS (and NRP for OB/NICU) are required within set timelines; 1 year RN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current valid RN license in required state; BLS certification required with 30 days to obtain start date.
• ICU/SCU/ED/PACU RNs require ACLS and PALS within 1 year; OB/NICU RNs require NRP within 1 year per guidelines.
• One year of recent RN experience preferred.
• Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency required for any RN assisting Laboring Women.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care on a medical-surgical unit through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective patient care and communication.

This is a Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to candidates with greater than 1 year of RN work experience

Summary:

This is a Temporary (13-week), Full-time, 36 hour/week, Evening shift position.

Unit Bio:

Our Medical-Surgical Unit offers a safe and nurturing environment for patients of all ages. Telemetry, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, cardiac/respiratory, diabetes, stroke, pediatrics, and gynecological surgery are all part of our practice.

The Registered Nurse role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

The Registered Nurse - Temporary role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN's require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN's require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines.
3. Experience: One year of recent RN experience preferred.

The pay for this position is $75.00 per hour.
