UP Health System – Bell is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical/Surgical Unit in a Critical Access Hospital setting. This PRN/0.001 FTE position features 12-hour varied shifts (7-7). The role emphasizes comprehensive patient care, documentation, and collaboration with the care team to support patient well-being.

Ideal candidates hold a Michigan RN license with an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred), ACLS/PALS within 1 year, and BLS. Prior Med/Surg experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; bachelor’s preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs plan of care including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and other medical care.
• Documents patient care.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Collaborates across disciplines for coordinated patient care including transfers and discharges.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age and condition.
• Advocates for patient physical and emotional well-being.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.


• Documents patient care given.


• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.


• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.


• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.


• Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.


• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.


• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional Requirements Include

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year.


• Experience: 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
