Job summary

UP Health System Bell in Ishpeming Township, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. This full-time role offers 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period) with 6 x 12-hour night shifts and alternating weekends.

A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants and supports high-quality emergency care. The RN will plan and deliver patient care, document treatments, monitor status, and collaborate with the care team to coordinate transfers, discharges, and family

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate degree required; bachelor's preferred.
• Active certifications: BLS-HCP, ACLS, PALS, TNCC.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional requirements include:

• AHA Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)
• 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
