Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for General Surgery 3W at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. This part-time role offers 24 hours per week with day shift hours from 7am to 7pm.

The ideal candidate will hold an accredited nursing degree, a valid RN license (state or compact), and BLS. At least 2 years of patient care experience is required, with a Bachelor's in Nursing and supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure in hiring state or compact licensure.
• BLS certification required (within 30 days of hire).
• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing and supervisor experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.

Schedule: Part time | 24 hours/week

Shift: Days 7a-7p

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
