Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the General Surgery 3W unit. This is a full-time position at 36 hours per week, with a 7:00 pm–7:00 am shift.

The role involves applying the nursing process to patient care, ensuring confidentiality, and coordinating care with other departments. Qualifications include an accredited nursing program graduation, an active RN license (or compact license), BLS certification, and at least 2 years of patient care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery 3W

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Days 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
