Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for General Surgery 3W in St. Louis, MO. This full-time role covers 36 hours per week with a day/evening rotation from 7:00pm to 7:00am at Mercy Hospital South, 10010 Kennerly Rd.

Education includes graduation from an accredited nursing program. Requires current MO RN license or compact licensure and BLS certification (within 30 days of hire). Two years of patient care experience are required; BSN and supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience.
• RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing; supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.

Position Details:

Schedule: Full-time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Days 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
