Job summary

BayCare in Winter Haven is seeking a Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant to provide specialized lactation support to breastfeeding mothers and their infants. You will educate staff and customers, model best practices, and apply nursing processes to ensure quality care.

The role requires RN licensure with BLS and NRP, and preference for CLC or IBCLC certification and 3 years of Women’s Health experience. The position is full-time with varied shifts at BayCare Health System’s Lactation-WHWH unit.

Qualifications

• RN license, BLS, NRP required.
• CLC or IBCLC certification preferred.
• 3 years RN experience in Women’s Health required.
• Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
• Mother/Baby RN experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide lactation support to breastfeeding mothers and infants.
• Educate staff and customers on lactation topics.
• Serve as a role model and resource for the staff in breastfeeding care.

The Lactation Consultant – RN provides specialized assistance to the breastfeeding mothers and infants, provides lactation education to the staff and customers, and serves as a role model for the staff in working with breastfeeding families. The Lactation Consultant utilizes the nursing process and clinical standards, delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team, is responsible for professional accountability and development, and serves as a resource for the staff.
