Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) ICU PRN to join our 19-bed ICU team. You will work 3 12-hour shifts with every other weekend, delivering high-acuity care in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires an active Virginia RN license, an Associate's degree in nursing, and BLS; ACLS within 6 months. The team includes critical care and residency physicians with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Associate's degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in a clinical area is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.

Education

Associate's degree in nursing

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate's degree in nursing required.
