Job summary

Sovah Danville is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room to join our surgical team. The OR supports orthopedics, general surgery, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, spine and pulmonary with advanced technology including Mako and da Vinci.

Expect 11 AM to 7 PM shifts, a rotating call schedule, and a $20,000 sign-on bonus. The role requires Virginia RN license, ADN with OR experience; Bachelor’s preferred. Join our mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care close to home.

Qualifications

  • Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
  • Associate's degree in nursing required.
  • Previous OR RN experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures.
  • Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies. Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.
  • Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
  • Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment.
  • Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
  • Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Registered Nurse - Operating Room - 11AM - 7PM

$20,000 sign on bonus eligibility

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday, typically 8-hour shifts - 11 AM to 7 PM
  • Rotating call schedule
  • Schedule subject to change based on department and patient care needs

Hourly Range: $31.49 - $42.51 per hour

Our 10-room surgical suite supports a wide range of specialties with 17 surgeons utilizing block time. Nurses have the opportunity to circulate and assist in procedures across:

  • Orthopedics
  • General Surgery
  • OB/GYN

With many nurses on the unit having 15+ years of experience, mentorship and hands-on training are readily available. Our strong multidisciplinary teamwork sets us apart, with a shared goal of delivering safe, high-quality, compassionate care close to home.

How you will contribute

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.Associate's degree in nursing required.
