Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking an RN to join our ICU team on a PRN basis. The role requires an active Virginia RN license, an associate degree (bachelor's preferred), and BLS with ACLS within 6 months. You will perform care plans, document care, monitor patient conditions, assist with ADLs, and coordinate multidisciplinary care with a focus on high-acuity patients.

Flexible shifts or units as needed and ongoing professional development opportunities are offered to support clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Associate's degree in nursing is required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in clinical area is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Assesses learning needs of patient/family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate's degree in nursing required.

Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Experience in clinical area preferred
