Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU on the night shift. The 12-hour nocturnal schedule offers 36 hours per week with every other weekend, in-person care, and a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 19-bed closed ICU.

You will plan and document care, monitor patients, collaborate across disciplines, and participate in ongoing education and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in VA or a compact state.
• Associate's degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per nursing process.
• Document patient care and monitor conditions.
• Collaborate with care team for transfers, discharges, and referrals.
• Educate patients and families; support continuous learning.

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.

What We're Looking For

The right person who will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Applicants should have a current RN VA or compact state license. Associate's degree in nursing required.

Additional Requirements Include

• American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Experience in clinical area preferred

Hourly range - $33.19 - $44.81
