Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

Job Type: Part Time | PRN, Variable Schedule: 12‑hour shifts, PRN – as needed. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Join our team in a 12‑bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a 1:2 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, staffed with RNs and CNAs, and supported by Telehealth intensivists for immediate assistance.

Responsibilities

Comprehensive patient assessments, administering specialized treatments, monitoring critical conditions, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

How you’ll contribute
  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
  • Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Conduct timely and accurate QI assessments.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
