Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our 12-bed ICU. The position features a 3x12 schedule, day shift (7a-7p), with holidays and weekends required.

Join a team with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, access to Telehealth intensivists, and a $15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates committed to the day shift. The ICU handles diverse diagnoses and emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking and compassionate care to improve patient

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina (or compact) RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age.
• Complete timely documentation in the medical record.
• Maintain and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for each patient.
• Conduct timely QoI (QI) assessments.

Join our team in a 12-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), our ICU operates with a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio. We offer Telehealth intensivists for immediate support and manage a diverse range of diagnoses including respiratory failure, cardio/pulmonary disease, sepsis, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, administering specialized treatments, monitoring critical conditions, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This position provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where teamwork, critical thinking, and compassionate care are paramount.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• AHA Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
