Job summary

Centerpoint - Winchester, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time position in Winchester, KY. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered. The role features a 3x12 schedule (7p-7a) with rotating weekends, aligning with ICU patient care needs.

You will deliver expert critical care, monitor patients, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team. Applicants must hold a valid KY RN license or compact license, and have BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current valid state RN license.
• ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications.
• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
• KY RN licensure or compact licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Provide plan of care, med administration, specimen collection and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition; communicate with care team and family.
• Assist with activities of daily living and coordinate transfers or discharges as needed.
• Educate patients and families according to age and cultural needs; advocate for patient wellbeing.

Last year, Centerpoint - Winchester broke ground on an expansion for the intensive care unit (ICU). The expansion signifies a 75% increase in capacity for the ICU, adding six beds to the eight that are currently available. The new construction also includes the expansion of an ACU unit and build-out space for a new surgical suite, enabling Winchester to expand surgery as the needs of the community demand.

How you'll contribute

An ICU RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

• Documents patient care given.

• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire

• Handle With Care - within 30 days of hire

• Associates Degree in Nursing, required

• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
