Job summary

Centerpoint - Winchester, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a PreOp/PACU RN to deliver comprehensive perioperative care in a 7-bed OR and related services. The role includes medication administration, care documentation, and collaboration with care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes on a full-time day schedule with a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Applicants should hold an active KY RN license with a nursing degree from an accredited school.

Qualifications

• Requires current state RN license and degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS within 10 days of hire; ACLS within six months of hire; PALS within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor and communicate patient condition to care team, physicians, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Educate patient and family appropriate to age, culture, condition, and perioperative process.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Care for surgical patients throughout perioperative phases I, II and extended care.

More About Our Team

Our 7 bed OR services include specialties in general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics/gynecology, ophthalmology, oral/maxillofacial, podiatry, pain management, ear/nose/throat (ENT), and gastroenterology. Surgical services include pre-admission testing, prep & recovery, operating room, central sterile reprocessing (CSR), and endoscopy/GI.

How You'll Contribute

• Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Document patient care given.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
• Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Assess and care for the surgical patient throughout the perioperative process by performing preadmission testing, preparing the patient day of surgery and providing care for Phase I, Phase II and Extended Level of Care after surgery.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - within 10 (ten) days of hire
