Job summary

Lifepoint Health’s Centerpoint - Georgetown seeks an Intensive Care Unit RN to join a 6-bed unit with a 2:1 patient ratio. This full-time night shift offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a role focused on critical care, with patient advocacy and comprehensive teamwork across disciplines.

The ideal candidate holds a Kentucky or compact RN license, an associate degree in nursing, plus BLS, ACLS, and PALS within required timelines; a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky or compact state RN license and associate degree in nursing.
• BLS within 10 days of hire; ACLS within 30 days; PALS within 45 days.
• Handle With Care within 30 days; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and other medical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided and monitors patient condition.
• Communicates patient status with care team, physicians, patients and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Coordinates patient transfers, discharges and referrals as needed.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age and condition.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

The intensive care unit (ICU) is a 6-bed unit that provides specialized care for critically ill patients. The unit maintains a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure close monitoring, timely interventions, and high-quality patient care.

How You'll Contribute

An Intensive Care Unit RN who excels in this role :

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire
• Handle With Care - within 30 days of hire
• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
