Job summary

Centerpoint - Winchester is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Advanced Care Unit. This full-time night position involves 3x12 shifts (7p–7a) with rotating weekends and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

You will provide medication administration, patient care, and collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes. A BSN is preferred and state licensure is required. Comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• KY RN licensure or compact licensure is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines for patient care coordination (transfer, discharge, referral, spiritual/psychosocial support).
• Assesses learning needs of patient/family and provides age-appropriate education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

More about our team

Last year, Centerpoint - Winchester broke ground on an expansion for the intensive care unit (ICU). The expansion signifies a 75% increase in capacity for the ICU, adding six beds to the eight that are currently available. The new construction also includes the expansion of an ACU unit and build‑out space for a new surgical suite, enabling Winchester to expand surgery as the needs of the community demand.

How you’ll contribute

An ACU RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required)
• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire
• Handle With Care certification within 30 days of hire
