Job summary

Centerpoint - Georgetown is seeking an ICU RN to join the 6-bed unit providing specialized care for critically ill patients. The role supports a 2:1 patient ratio and a rotating weekends schedule with 7p–7a shifts.

The ideal candidate has an RN license in Kentucky or compact state, an associate degree in nursing, and is committed to high-quality critical care. Sign-on bonus available and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky or compact RN license.
• BLS within 10 days of hire is required.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire is required.
• PALS within 45 days of hire is required.
• Handle With Care within 30 days of hire is required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient conditions to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Coordinates patient care with other disciplines and manages transfers and discharges.
• Educates patient and family according to age, culture, and condition.
• Advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

The intensive care unit (ICU) is a 6-bed unit that provides specialized care for critically ill patients. The unit maintains a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure close monitoring, timely interventions, and high-quality patient care.

How you'll contribute

An Intensive Care Unit RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire
• Handle With Care - within 30 days of hire
• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
