Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-level patient care in a fast-paced ICU. You will work with an experienced multidisciplinary team, performing the plan of care, medication administration, and continuous monitoring of patient status.

Applicants must hold a state RN license with an Associate's degree in nursing (Bachelor's preferred). BCLS is required; ACLS/PALS and Handle with Care are preferred.

Howyou'll contribute:

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
Schedule: Full-Time Nights
What we're looking for:

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.
