Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL, seeks a Nurse Manager, Critical Care Stepdown to lead the CCU with a focus on clinical excellence and operational efficiency.

The role requires a BSN and an Alabama RN license, with 3+ years in medical-surgical nursing and at least 2 years in supervision. You will drive quality initiatives, budget management, and staff development in a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Current Alabama RN license or licensure eligible.
• 3+ years of medical-surgical nursing with at least 2 years supervisory experience.
• Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in acute care.
• Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret data and implement performance-improvement initiatives.
• BLS required and ACLS preferred (or obtained within defined timeframe).

The Critical Care Department (CCU) at North Alabama Medical Center (NAMC) in Florence, Alabama offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment that bridges critical care and medical-surgical nursing. This department is ideal for RNs who thrive on critical thinking, continuous learning, and hands-on patient care while building strong clinical skills.

In the CCU, nurses care for patients who require close monitoring and advanced interventions, including cardiac and respiratory conditions, post-operative recovery, and complex medical diagnoses. With a strong focus on evidence-based practice and patient-centered care, nurses play a vital role in managing telemetry, titrating medications, and collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Alabama RN license (or eligible for licensure).
• Three or more years of experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships team
• Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in acute care settings.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement performance-improvement initiatives.
• BLS required and ACLS preferred (or obtained within a defined timeframe)
