Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the General Surgery 3W unit. This is a full-time, day-shift position on a General Surgery inpatient floor (not OR).

36 hours per week with shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Qualified candidates will have an RN license in Missouri (or compact licensure), an accredited nursing degree (ADN, Diploma, or BSN), BLS certification, and hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following degrees.

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.

This position is on a General Surgery Medical‑Surgical inpatient unit. This is not an Operating Room (OR) role.

Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM-7:00 PM

Sign-On Bonus:

• Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
