Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO seeks a Registered Nurse for the General Surgery 3W unit. This is a part-time position on a 24-hour weekly schedule with a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

You will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, support patient rights and confidentiality, and collaborate with other departments to coordinate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with ADN, Diploma, or BSN.
• Current Missouri RN license or compact licensure.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days).
• Hospital experience preferred depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process on the General Surgery unit.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality at all times.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments to ensure seamless service.
• Assume professional accountability for the care of assigned patients.

Job description

• Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Nursing Diploma
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
• Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
• Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: BSN preferred
  • Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
  • Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
