Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in Missouri seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the General Surgery 3W inpatient unit (not OR). The Night shift runs 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, full-time at 36 hours/week.

A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for experienced nurses, and up to $5,000 for new graduates. The role uses the nursing process to deliver patient care, coordinate with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality per Mercy standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
• Licensure: Current Missouri RN license or compact license.
• Experience: Prior hospital experience preferred depending on unit.
• Certifications: BLS required or within 30 days of hire.

• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
