Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Pittsburgh is seeking a Registered Nurse for our inpatient medical-surgical unit in Pittsburgh, PA. Under nursing leadership, you will apply the nursing process to plan, direct, and evaluate patient care.

You will handle discharge planning, patient and family teaching, and interdisciplinary coordination. ACLS and BLS are required, with ACLS certification within 90 days. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities to grow within PAM Health.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in PA or compact state.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and supervise patient care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Perform duties including Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed.

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Education and Training:

Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Experience:

One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
