Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Pittsburgh is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide, direct and supervise care on the nursing unit under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing. The RN will plan, coordinate, and provide patient care, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching for post-hospitalization, and access community resources.

ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in the state where the hospital resides or from a participating compact state.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, direct and supervise patient care using the nursing process.
• Plan, coordinate and provide patient care including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary planning and access community resources.

Education

Active RN license (state or compact)

BLS certification

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Education and Training:

Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Experience:

One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
